Post 3 : Your dream job

At school I have no idea to what study. Then, after receiving the results of the PSU, I decided to study Law, because I felt attracted to the career field, especially International Law. Three years later, I realized that I was wrong about my future, my interest was in economics, the political structure and the society in general, so I changed to Sociology. When I finish this new career I would like to have a good job in a Think Tank, or maybe work like a consultant, designing politics for the central or local governments. I expected to work outdoors, but primaly indoors, from my house. I would like to travel a lot, to give advice to others governments around the world. In this scene, an office is not necessary in the conventional way, maybe one in my house if I can afford it. Having courses of Statistics in Sociology, I developed a interets in that field, because is so interesting the Big Data, and the interactions on the social networks we see every day, without doubt, the importance of this will only grow. So I want, in the future, study a specialization in that topic.

Post 6: English Language Challenges

Hi!! The course seemed good to me, it has helped me a lot to practice English, especially the spoken part, and it is so necessary in the professional life, that I am glad that this is a course at the university. The idea of using blogs for weekly homework (not all weeks, but most of them) is useful for practice the written language, and the comments force you to read the posts of others members of the course, in my opinion that is nice. The subjects of the posts also are interesting, not the coolest ones, but they are enough. My weakest side in the English language is the spoken part, my fluency in sentences is bad, and the pronunciation of the words is weak. I think the written part also needs some improvement, like in the use of more vocabulary, the expression of ideas, and even the order of some sentences. My plan in the future for solvent these issues, is to try chatting by voice in the videogames I play very often with people who speak English (most of them do in online games). ...

Post 5 : Changes to my study program

Hi! as you may know from classes, before entered Sociology I studied Law, and one reason that caused me to leave there was the lack of practice in the exercise of law in the first years in that faculty. In Sociology is diferrent, almost opposite, because a lot of things that we will do after finished the career were done during university days, for example: surveys, interviews, focus groups, data analysis, among others. This situation not always was like this, since a profound reform was carried out in the Sociology program in 2016 to modernize the subjects and bring the career closer to the laboral world. Talking about the duration of the careers in Chile, I think five years is too much, in consideration of the almost null knowledge of the formal labor world and of the professions in general that you have at school, we should have an intermediate system between university and school, which will specialize you in a more specific way before choosing a career, something similar to Bachil...

Post 2 : The best holidays ever

I think my best vacation was in 2018 when I visited an uncle in the UK. In that year, the UK had not yet left the EU, so it was easy to visit other countries on the continent, such as France, Spain, Italy and Austria. My uncle and his boyfriend went with me to Normandy and Paris in France. A week later, we traveled by train to Barcelona, Spain, to meet some friends they had in a town near the city, they were very funny and good dancers, we also ate a lot on that visit. Days later, we decided to take the train again to go to Milan, Venice, Pisa and Rome. That trip was pure magic, I'm a fan of classical history, so the wonders we saw are on another level, the Colosseum, the canals of Venice or the buildings in Pisa. Some time later we decided to travel to Austria, we visited Vienna and enjoyed the Austrian nights, and then returned to London for rest a few days.
